FETCHAM PARK LIFE – April 22, 2020
FIND INSPIRATION IN EVERYTHING
As we enter another phase of lockdown and the associated challenges this brings, we’re reminded of Sir Paul Smith’s famous quote: “you can find inspiration in everything and if you can’t look again.”
Life as we know it may have changed for the foreseeable but inspiration and the power of the human spirit continue to flourish and thrive. Social media has become an invaluable resource for sharing ideas and channeling creativity. Some of our favourite recent shares come courtesy of (from top left to right): Sothebys, David Hockney, Hair by Sam Knight, Something_inc, Run.for.heroes, Paul Smith Design, Matt Maurice Event Music and Talk Art podcast.
CBI | Coronavirus Hub
The UK’s most effective and influential business organisation has collated everything you need to know about COVID-19, including advice, guidance, and what your business can do to help. Access is free to non-members during the current crisis.
Malcolm Young, chairman and chief executive of The Wilky Group, who’s property portfolio includes Fetcham Park and our sister business centres Parallel House, Cams Hall and Westmead House, is also a member of the CBI’s South East Regional and National SME Boards, hence our ability to share this link with you.

WFH | Posture Check
As we surrender ourselves to working from home for the time being, there have been an influx of news reports about the potential damage to our posture caused by makeshift workspaces.
This helpful infographic published recently by The Times is a good example and has been verified by our own in-house posture, health and wellbeing expert Holly Myers from The Health Quest.

BRINGING THE OUTSIDE IN
There’s no denying the uplifting effects seasonal, scented flowers have on our mood. We are very lucky to have some incredible locally grown, independent suppliers with beautiful blooms available for collection or home delivery. Why not treat yourself, brighten up your home or workspace, and help these growers survive the pandemic.
Our local favourites: Plant Passion in Horsley, Forget Me Not & Fleece in Farnham, Cherfold Flowers in Chiddingford and Kingfisher Farm Shop in Abinger Hammer.
CHARITY | Sight for Surrey Coronavirus Fund
It is wonderful to see Sight for Surrey are continuing to support the local community during these challenging times.
The charity is a real lifeline to many and relies heavily on fundraising through all-year round events & initiatives. As is sadly the case with the majority of charities, these activities are currently on hold.
They are desperately in need of funds to help them support blind, partially sighted, Deaf, deafblind and hard of hearing in the county. Find out more…
EVENT | VE DAY 75th Anniversary
Remembering the lives and stories of the many millions at home and abroad who gave so much to ensure the freedom we have today is particularly poignant this year as we think about those who endured exceptionally challenging times.
While national events have been cancelled due to the current crisis, people are encouraged to take part in the ‘Nation’s Toast to the Heroes of WW2’ at 3pm on the 8th May, from the safety of their own home by standing up and raising a glass with the following ‘Toast’ – “To those who gave so much, we thank you”.
